Chief Warrant Officers Ronald Young and David Williams embrace each other with relief while inside a KC-130 transport aircraft that retrieved them from a seized Iraqi airfield. The two soldiers were taken captive when their Apache attack helicopter took a round through the cockpit controls in late March. Marines from 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion were conducting house-to-house raids in the city of Sammara, Iraq when they found seven American POWs. The Marines were given a tip that POWs may be in the area. All were safely rescued April 13, 2003.
