Photographer Gordon Parks reflects on growing up in Kansas during a press conference prior to the Governor's Arts Awards at Washburn University in Topeka. Parks was presented with the Kansas Arts Commission Distiguished Arts Award. He is also known as a cinematographer, composer and poet.
